Obstacles
What is stopping your company from migrating to IP Control?
• Problem #1—IP Systems are the Future - Expanding the
IP network into other controllable environments is a natural progression
of computers. Economies of scale, manufacturing, technological advancements,
and convergence are all indicators of the future of automation.
• Problem #2—Software Only Companies Lack Integrated
Solutions - Installers are left on their own to figure out what
hardware to use, diagnose problems, and compose a working system.
Lack of experience dealing with the hardware gives the impression
that IP systems are unstable.
• Problem #3—IP Systems are too scalable - With thousands
of hardware manufacturers, millions of software programs, and an
endless line-card of capabilities, it is difficult to get your hands
around IP Systems. Integrators need direction and focus to keep
the systems from becoming difficult and overwhelming.
• Problem #4—Too Many PC Products - Too many PC based
products to choose from is both a blessing and a curse of the IP
System. Desktops, HTPC’s, laptops, tablets, web pads, PDA’s,
monitors, routers, wireless access points, etc. are everywhere.
Prices keep dropping as manufacturers become more aggressive, but
which products are right for my project?
